You do not need a time machine to have a trip to the 14th century. It's enough to visit Zvenigorod and it's ancient kremlin. SAVVINO-Storozhevskiy monastery.
It's a Tzar's monastery indeed. Aleksey Mihaylovich knew how to choose the place for his residence. The Rozhdestvenskiy cathedral is cozy and trig built at the time of the monastery founder St. Savvy in accordance with Moscow tradition in architecture. It's considered to be a real miracle of ancient Russian architecture. The monastery houses a museum exposition which is interesting to see. In "charming disorder" of its exhibits you'll find real gems worthy the best museum collections. You can enjoy a scenic view opening from the top of the cloister's bell-tower.

The Great Vyazemy.
For ages the main road to Moscow from the west has been passing through the Great Vyazemy. Invariably this village attracted attention of many famous visitors - from Lzhedmitriy to empire Paul the first.
All visitors have been captivated by the beauty of the rural church. The Church of the Holy Trinity was built by an order of the first owner of the homestead, Boris Godunov. As a model for the building the Archangel cathedral of the Moscow Kremlin was chosen. It was that rare case when a copy turned out to be even better then the original. The ensemble of the estate was completed by the end the 18 century, when the main building and a lime tree park were finished. Up to now this homestead is one of the most remarkable country estates in Podmoskovie. In addition to all mentioned above the estate houses a rich museum collection, which exhibits are associated with the Golitsyns family, who had been possessing the Great Vyazemy since the times of Peter the Great.
